This person will be responsible for dusting, mopping, and various types of floor care. Additional functions will include cleaning wheelchairs; disposing of refuse/waste in a safe manner; disinfecting assigned areas, equipment and furniture; and servicing assigned areas to ensure that the facility is clean, attractive and safe for employees, residents and visitors.

MDS Coordinator

Description St. Mary’s Nursing Center, a long-term care and rehabilitation facility in beautiful historic Leonardtown, Maryland, with a workforce of approximately 220, is currently seeking an MDS Coordinator to take responsibility for the overall MDS assessment process.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this position requires an extremely organized individual who will assess and document residents’ physical and mental functions, determining appropriate referrals to other health care professionals and using the resident assessment protocols to implement and oversee the resident care plan process. The MDS Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the current MDS status of each resident according to state and federal guidelines, as well as being able to establish and maintain positive relationships with all members of the healthcare team. The MDS Coordinator works closely with facility management to provide education to the staff on documentation guidelines to accurately represent the resident through the assessment process. The successful candidate will also possess progressive skills and expertise in both the clinical and managerial aspects of this position and provide assistance in Medical Assistance/Private/Medicare billing.

To be considered for the position, candidate must possess a current RN Maryland State License and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in related MDS experience in a long-term care environment. MDS certification required. Qualifications will also include excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be dependable, compassionate and have a desire to work with the elderly.
